This weekend we will welcome our beginners students, along with their families and friends to enjoy a musical concert in Barcelona, showcasing what they have learned this year. We look forward to seeing everyone there! Once again our concert will be hosted in the Concert Hall of the Center Popular La Violeta in Gracia at … on Saturday 17th June 2023 at 17h!
Playing a musical instrument is an excellent way to learn new things, improve your skills, and enhance your creativity. While practicing alone at home is great, playing in a concert has many benefits for music students, especially beginners.
First and foremost, playing in a concert allows beginners to experience what it’s like to perform in front of an audience. It helps them conquer any stage fright and boosts their confidence. It also provides an opportunity for students to showcase their skills and hard work to their family, friends, and peers.
Playing in a concert also exposes students to different music genres, styles, and techniques. They get to play with other musicians, which enhances their ability to listen, collaborate and work as a team. It also encourages them to be more committed to learning the instrument and motivates them to practice more.
Moreover, playing in a concert allows students to receive feedback from professionals, mentors, and peers, helping them improve their skills and technique. The feedback received can be incredibly valuable, and students can use it to enhance their playing and achieve better results.
Concerts also create an excellent platform for music students to learn the art of performance. They learn how to communicate with the audience, how to create an atmosphere, and how to structure their music. All these are essential skills that can’t be learned by practicing alone.
Playing in a concert also offers a chance for students to meet new people and make new friends with whom they share common interests. It can be an opportunity to network with other musicians, meet potential bandmates, and even get recommendations for gigs or other events.

Our Combos concert is happening this Saturday. Shine Music Schools combos give our students the unique opportunity to play as part of a band, a choir, an orchestra or more. Not only do students benefit from actively learning how their chosen instrument or singing can work with others, but its also a fun way to share a love of music. Come and support some of our groups as they perform on Saturday at the La Violeta Cultural Center in Gracia

As the school year ends in Spain and the temperatures in Barcelona rise, everyone prepares for the summer holidays. Music exams are studied intensively and students practice for the annual music concert held at the end of the year.
It is an exciting occasion and one that the Estudio Shine family looks forward to every year. Students invite friends and family to come and enjoy all the musical pieces and the day is filled with fun musical energy. Each year some of our teachers are featured as well, in an early finale!
The concerts are usually in two parts, with a beginners show and an advanced concert, however you can attend both! It is an opportunity for students to showcase their achievements for the year and also an opportunity to perform in front of a crowd, which is an important learning curve for students and an added skill!
This year our Beginners Concert will be held on the 19 of June and our Advanced Concert is programmed for the 16 of July. Both concerts will take place live at La Violeta in Gracia at 17h. We hope to see you there, to end some music together to open the summer season.
Our concerts are advertised on Facebook and our Instagram pages, and we make announcements to students via email and at school before due dates.
* Note that Shine Music School is not closed for summer vacation, in fact our teachers offer intensive courses during the holiday season, and anyone is welcome to come and practice!

João Silva, an accomplished musician, shares his notable knowledge and experience with students of The Shine School of Music, where he teaches the violin. On Saturday the 22nd of April he will be presenting his new work on the violin in a small concert held at The Music Room for a limited audience.

Born in Ponte de Lima, Portugal (1991), and growing up in an amateur musicians family he started having contact with music when he was very young. At the age of 12 he began studying classical violin at the Professional Music School of Viana do Castelo, Portugal, where he completed his degree in classical violin. At the age of 19 he began studying violin at the Hot Jazz Club of Portugal and two years later studied in ESMUC, Barcelona.
In Barcelona, he now leads and takes part in different bands such as, “João Silva & Mariano Camarasa” (Jazz), Basarab (Balkan) and DuCaña (Traditional Music of Brazil). All of them featured in several festivals and different countries such as Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Ukraine and Switzerland.
